Prove it!!!

My first writing assignment and conference with Dr. Driver has given me encouragement in completing my next assignment. I really appreciated the opportunity to self-reflect on my strengths and weaknesses in my writing. As an educator, I tend to use a lot of educational jargon. Based on my last paper, I need to research sources to validate the point I’m trying to convey. For example, diverse student population drives changes in instructional practices. When writing I need to question myself. Is this an original point? If not prove it! Validating my point will give creditability to the point I’m trying to convey.

Also, I’m trying hard not to cite a secondary source because I don’t want to take a statement out of context. During my research I found a strong quote to support the point I was trying to prove; however, I failed to find the original source. You can loose valuable writing time when trying to find unknown sources. This was very difficult when I located a statement I wanted to include in my writing.

This assignment definitely assisted me in honing my research skills.
